Clint Ramsey moet noodgedwongen zijn job als pompbediende opzeggen nadat zijn vrouw werd vermoord door de geschifte politieman Harry Sledge. Slegde zit namelijk ook achter Ramsey aan, die op de vlucht slaat en ergens anders een nieuw bestaan wil opbouwen. De tocht verloopt echter niet op rolletjes, en het gaat helemaal mis als Ramsey tijdens het liften opgepikt wordt door een rondborstige dame en haar man.
