Alan Partridge heeft veel ups en downs in zijn leven. Als televisiepresentator is hij verantwoordelijk voor het doden van een gast in een live-uitzending. Nu is hij presentator bij zijn eigen radiostation North Norfolk Digital. Zijn station staat echter op het punt overgenomen te worden door een groot mediaconglomeraat en omgedoopt te worden tot Shape. De zaken nemen een dramatische wending wanneer Alan meegesleurd wordt in een gewapende belegering in Norfolk.
